Places you gonna LOVE when in Gold Coast, Australia

Updated: Mar 5, 2019

I can't believe that we manage to visit Gold Coast, Australia after having some difficulties applying for the Visa. My husband was so excited to show around Gold Coast (his 2nd home) to me and my family. And guess what? We fall in love with Gold Coast. So that is why I make this "Places you MUST visit in Gold Coast" post so that you would love it as much as I do. For me, it is totally different with Melbourne, Australia. Check out my Melbourne, Australia trip.

1. Beach

The name itself shows that Gold Coast is a coastal city in the Australia State of Queensland. The city consist of 70km of coastline with some of the most popular surf break in Australia such as Main Beach, Surfer Paradise, Broadbeach, Curumbin Beach, Burleigh Heads and a lot more.

We only able to visit one beach which is Surfer Paradise and it is a paradise!

The reason why this beach is a must visit place in Gold Coast are because there are a picnic area, have a BBQ pit, easy parking, have clean toilet and seating place, very nice wave, very soft sand and the best thing is we saw whale here in August !

We went to Movie World on Friday. The weather was nice and the place was not crowded with people. We manage to take the same ride a couple of time (we just never get bored with roller coaster). We spent one whole day in the theme park.

Harbour Town Outlet

I can't believe that I arrive Harbour Town Outlet around 3 pm and my son was so cranky and grumpy. I believe it was because he tired and hungry. That why I wrote in my "10 Tips for your kids to eat well while traveling" post to plan your itinerary thoroughly (meaning to include lunch break in your itinerary). Harbour Town Outlet is a great place to shop and like other place in Australia, most of the shop close at 5.30pm. I end up have less than one hour top shop here. As I mention earlier, Harbour Town is a great place to shop when in Gold Coast, so make sure you bring a lot of money. Like a lot. Cause this is where I spent most of my money (although I just shop for less than 1 hour).

4. Animal Sanctuary

You can ride a train around the sanctuary and walk everywhere. Do not forget to take photo with koala, kangaroo, baby crocodile, and etc. For adult adrenaline junky, sign up for high ropes adventure course to have a bird eye view from tree top.

We spent one whole day here and still unable to cover the whole place. It is so big and entertaining place to spent time with your families.

Sea World

Either you have kid or not, Sea World is a must for your Gold Coast Trip. My brother, a grown up man got so excited here. Excited and kind of showing off that he know most of the animal name. Hah. Their shark bay is awesome because it is multilevel above and below exhibit. There is also a water splash zone for your kid and you can ride monorail to see the whole park. One whole day in here is not enough. I wish they open longer as my son doesn't wanna go out from the shark bay. Not to forget, here you can ride a helicopter starting from $65. But we didn't ride it because the price is just for 5 minutes. Gulp.

Location : Production Drive, Oxenford QLD 4210, Australia

Operating Hour : 9.30am and closing at 5.30pm. Open from 1.30pm to 6pm on ANZAC Day April 25th.

That complete our 7 days there. For food tips, most of the time we eat at home and bring food with us. One eating place that I love and think you should try is Charis Seafood. I have share the experience eating there in my 6 Things to do before you die in Gold Coast.

So what do you think about Gold Coast ? Would you love to visit Gold Coast.
